In season we serve lunch and dinner daily. Our private chef composes a daily à la carte menu where you can choose to have one, two or three courses. So, stay at Head over Hills for lunch and dinner and enjoy the best view in Knysna. To reserve a table for dinner, please call or email us. Alternatively, please inform one of our helpful staff of your request upon arrival. We will gladly book a table for you. Our restaurant is open to non-guests too, so other locals or travelers can still enjoy our magnificent views and food. PICNICS Give us 24 hours’ notice and we will pack a picnic for you so that you can go out for the day and enjoy the sights of Knysna. Have a picnic on the beach at Brenton-on-Sea or just down below us at Coney Glen.

At Head over Hills, we are passionate about fine wine. Martin and Therese, the owners, have created a wine cellar where the guests can walk in and pick their very own special bottle to enjoy while watching the sunset or with one of our delicious à la carte dinners. South African vineyards produce some of the best wines in the world. In our wine cellar, we mainly concentrate on South African wines. Some of the finest vineyards are represented, including Hartenberg, Kaapzicht, Cederberg and Simonsig. We have a good selection of white, red, rose. Martin would love to take you to the cellar to show you our selection of wines. Not only are we very proud of our hand-picked collection but also to say that we have won the highest Diners Club wine list award for several consecutive years! We are very excited and happy to announce that we now have a tasting room. It’s the result of extending our cellar.
